Children’s Ministries

It is never too early to introduce children to the love of God. God has called us to raise up the next generation of Christian leaders, his plan requires us all to use our knowledge and abilities to the advance his kingdom. The foundation of  a bountiful relationship with God begins with children, and at an early age. Studies have shown that children are 5 times more likely to accept Jesus Christ, as their personal Lord and Savior, between the ages of 5 and 13.  The importance of instilling Christian morals and values is immeasurable.

At Pleasant Dale Baptist Church, our children’s ministries are building a future. A future for Christian missions and fellowship within our body of believers. A solid foundation of Christ’s love and mercy will resound with children throughout their lives, and into adulthood.

We offer Sunday School for all ages, along with Children’s Church and AWANA programs that provide biblical guidance through worship songs, verse memorization and prayer time. We want to provide our children with a safe, Christian environment to learn, to feel love and to experience Biblical truths. Our teachers are positive adult role models and enjoy seeing your children grow in the understanding of God and His wonderful ways. “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14

TRUTH: The majority (61%) of adults who attended church as children still attend regularly, while only 22% of those who were not churchgoers as children attend church today (courtesy, The Barna Institute).

Youth Ministries

The transition from childhood to adulthood is met with many challenges for teens and preteens. The solutions to the trials young people face lies within their personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Many view the teenage transition as the primary problem facing the local church; at Pleasant Dale Baptist, we realize this and we are on it! Youth programs, both fellowship within and community outreach, are a top priority. Your teen will be exposed to solid Bible preaching, Bible studies, activities that will challenge them, and prayerfully, things that will shape their lives forever.

We offer a variety of opportunities for youth in 6th-12th grades for worship, Bible study, dialogue, fun, mission/service experiences, retreats, conventions/conferences, recreational outings and more. A mix of biblical teaching, Christian fellowship and fun…it’s edu-tainment! At PDBC, we are teaming up with God to enrich Christian teens, grow them spiritually and reach out to a world full of lost young people. Whether it’s a soup kitchen on the streets of New York, or Hell House right here in our community, our ministry is reaching teens for the glory of God! Come be a part of this amazing group of students!

TRUTH: In order for Christianity to withstand the generations, a firm foundation must be built with teens who grow into Christian adults and role models for the next generation.

College & Career

Sunday School

Why Sunday School? It’s a vital part of Christian growth and fellowship. It’s a small group bible study allowing its members the freedom of discussion, a time for sharing and a time for fellowship with other believers who are very much like them! The lesson plans provide a systematic study of the scriptures at a level of understanding for a specific age group. Sunday School is an opportunity for personal application to the scriptures and to the group. Often the bonds formed in a small group are lifelong. The classroom is a training ground for Christians, young and old, to be more productive in church; to develop skills and talents for the Lord.

Our Bible study ministry is age-graded and utilizes an application based curriculum, which is needs-oriented. Our foundational strategy is to lead people to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and to build Great Commission Christians through Bible study groups. By joining a Bible study class, we promise to pray for you and your family regularly, provide a Bible study guide, invite you to participate in the activities of the class and church, and involve you in a meaningful and relevant study of God’s Word.

“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.” 2Timothy 3:16

TRUTH: Small group bible study engages the entire family; improving bible knowledge, forging relationships and enriching each member’s walk with the Lord.

Worship

Our worship services are the culmination of all our ministries, programs and activities. A time to gather and praise the Lord in song and prayer is at the heart of Pleasant Dale Baptist’s purpose.  We use a blended style of worship, recognizing that God can speak and move through both traditional hymns and contemporary choruses.

The worship portion of our services prepares hearts for the upcoming sermon, for the breaking of the bread of life. Worship welcomes the Holy Spirit to move in and through our worship center. Whether it’s exciting choir specials, praise bands, reverent solos or church prayer time, the blessings of our Lord and Savior will be poured upon all who attend! The Worship Ministry seeks to glorify God in Christ, communicating the Gospel in a vibrant and creative fashion.

“Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!” Psalm 100:2
